Khanewal (Urdu Times)— In view of possible protests and law-and-order threats linked to the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) movement, Khanewal police have been placed on high alert. Under the direct command of Second Commander DSP (Saddar) Khalid Javed Joiya, the district police have activated a comprehensive, intelligence-driven operational strategy to ensure peace and public safety across the region.

According to police sources, surveillance at bus terminals, motorway interchanges, and all key entry and exit routes has been tightened. A layered defence system has been established — including outer checkpoints, secondary control zones, and inner security belts — to monitor and intercept any suspicious movement before escalation.

The District Command and Control Centre is operating round the clock, integrating field intelligence, operational reports, and social media monitoring within a unified fusion center. Rapid Response Units and mobile reserve squads remain on high alert to respond instantly to any developing situation.

Reliable intelligence inputs have prompted pre-emptive operations and enhanced surveillance, ensuring that any planned assembly or disruption is contained well in advance. Coordination between the district administration, emergency services, and police has been further strengthened through continuous briefings and joint operational drills.

Speaking to the media, DSP Khalid Javed Joiya stated that, “Our objective is not to demonstrate force but to ensure law, order, and the protection of peaceful citizens. The force is fully prepared, trained, and equipped to handle any challenge professionally and effectively.”

Police sources urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel, refrain from spreading unverified information, and report any suspicious activity immediately to the control room or the nearest police station to support the ongoing security operations.
