Hazrat Imam Hussain’s life is a torch not only for Muslims but for the entire humanity. These views were expressed by eminent researcher and intellectual Dr. Maqsood Jafari while presenting his lecture titled “Shaheed Humanity of Hazrat Imam Hussain” in the program “Nuqta Nazar” organized by Nazria Pakistan Council Trust, Islamabad.

The ceremony was presided over by renowned poet and intellectual Naseem Sahar, while renowned poet and intellectual Dr. Farhat Abbas was the guest of honor. Hameed Qaiser, the host and program director of the event, representing the council, thanked the guests for their arrival and introduced the chief guest.

Dr. Maqsood Jafari added in his lecture that “Pakistan needs inter-faith harmony more than ever. Today, under the guise of Islam, vested interests have adopted sectarianism for a long time.” They are not letting the message reach the common man. It is necessary that the learned scholars with wisdom and knowledge explain the real background and purpose of the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain to the common man. What message did he send to humanity by refusing to pledge allegiance?” The President of the event Naseem Sahar and the guest of honor Dr. Farhat Abbas offered salutations to the Imam in accordance with the theme.

In response to a question, Dr. Maqsood Jafari said that the requirement of Hussain’s martyrdom is that Muslims should unite and establish a democratic and welfare system of Islam. Avoid sectarianism and religious extremism because the Imam himself said in the field of Karbala that “the purpose of my establishment is the establishment of religion and the restoration of human rights, that’s why he is called “martyr of humanity”.
