ISLAMABAD (Urdu Times) FIA Anti-Corruption Circle Islamabad Arrests IESCO Line Superintendent Red-Handed While Taking Bribe

ISLAMABAD (Urdu Times): The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Corruption Circle Islamabad arrested IESCO Chakwal Line Superintendent (LS-I) Sajid Farooq red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe during a trap operation conducted in Chakwal district on August 28, 2026.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Chakwal Judicial Magistrate Farooq Ahmed. During the operation, the magistrate recovered marked currency worth Rs25,000 from the possession of the accused. The amount consisted of five Rs5,000 notes and had allegedly been handed over by the complainant, Malik Zahid, son of Gul Zaman.
A case, registered as FIR No. 42/2026, has been filed against the accused under Sections 109 and 161 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), read with Section 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947.
The role of any other IESCO officers or employees, if found relevant, will be determined during the course of the investigation.
The FIA team comprising SHO Shehzad Khakwani, Inspector Asfand Yar Khan, ASI Sohail and ASI Waseem carried out the operation.
The FIA Islamabad Zone has reaffirmed its commitment to bringing individuals involved in corruption and bribery within government institutions to justice and ensuring that the law is enforced without discrimination.
