ISLAMABAD (Urdu Times): Former chief of army staff Gen (retd) Raheel Sharif met social and public figure Sardar Shoaib Mumtaz Khan Khattar on Sunday, where matters of national importance were discussed.

During the meeting, Mr Khattar acknowledged Gen Sharif’s contributions towards strengthening national security, reinforcing state institutions and leading the fight against militancy during his tenure as army chief.

He said the measures undertaken under Gen Sharif’s leadership had played an important role in improving the country’s security environment and promoting stability.

Mr Khattar also underscored the importance of national unity, strong institutions and collective efforts in addressing the challenges facing the country. He stressed the need for greater engagement of the younger generation in constructive national development and nation-building initiatives.

Expressing his good wishes for Pakistan’s peace, stability and economic progress, Mr Khattar said sustainable development required a shared commitment from all segments of society.

The meeting concluded with an expression of goodwill for the country’s continued stability, prosperity and institutional strength.
