Islamabad (Urdu Times) Unregistered Veterinary Medicines Manufacturing Factory Sealed, One Suspect Arrested

Joint Operation by FIA Anti-Corruption Circle Islamabad and DRAP

A joint team of the Federal Investigation Agency’s Anti-Corruption Circle Islamabad and the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) conducted an operation in Ghori Town, Islamabad, and sealed an unregistered and unlicensed veterinary medicines manufacturing factory. Large-scale illegal production of medicines was allegedly being carried out at the factory, which had neither proper registration nor any authorization from the relevant authorities.

During the operation, a large quantity of unregistered medicines, packaging material, labels, stock registers, and manufacturing machinery—including a weighing balance, pouch-sealing machine, and heat gun—were recovered from the site. DRAP officials seized the recovered items under Form 5 in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Drugs Act, 1976, while samples were sent to a laboratory for testing.

During the operation, suspect Arshad was arrested on the spot, while the factory owner is absconding and has been nominated in the case. Raids are being conducted to arrest the absconding suspect.
