ISLAMABAD (Urdu Times) The annual elections of the National Press Club (NPC) Islamabad are going to be held on March 12, 2026. At present, the journalist community of Islamabad and Rawalpindi and various media groups have announced their support for the Journalist Panel. At present, the election campaign is in full swing in the Press Club. Journalist Panel: This panel is being led by Nayar Ali (candidate for President), Khalid Mahmood (candidate for Secretary) and Abid Abbasi (candidate for Secretary Finance). National Press Club Islamabad Annual Elections; Dunya News, 92 News, Nawa-e-Waqt, News, NewsOne, Pakistan Press Agency PPA, Daily Mail International have announced their support for the Journalist Panel. The journey of service over the past year was extremely difficult and patience-tested. Nayar Ali, the presidential candidate, has said that the NPC has raised an effective voice against the attacks and cases against journalists across the country during the past year. Be it the registration of cases against journalists, incidents of violence, or attempts to troll and harass journalists, especially women, on social media. The National Press Club has defended its members on every front and will continue to do so in the future. In difficult situations, we did not lose courage. For the welfare and well-being of members and their families who were suffering from non-payment of salaries, unemployment, and financial difficulties, financial assistance was provided to them without hurting their self-esteem. Attractive prizes and Eid gifts were given to members and their families who participated in various competitions during the Ramadan Festival. This year too, the Ramadan Festival and Eid Family Preparations are underway to celebrate in a grand style. Pakistan’s media industry is going through the most difficult period in its history. While the rising inflation has severely affected the common man, the forced dismissal of journalists, delay in salaries and non-payment by media houses have caused great distress to working journalists and workers. We wanted to do much more for our colleagues than we have been able to do. Various media groups have announced their full support for the journalist panel in the election campaign, from the president to the governing body.
