Islamabad (Urdu Times) RISJA declares unwavering backing for the Journalist Panel in NPC elections.

Islamabad (Urdu Times) The annual elections of the National Press Club (NPC) Islamabad are going to be held today, March 12, 2026. Meanwhile, the oldest body of sports journalists, Rawalpindi-Islamabad Sports Journalists Association (RISJA), has announced full support for the journalists’ panel in the NPC elections. Rawalpindi-Islamabad Sports Journalists Association (RISJA) is a dynamic representative organization of sports journalists of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. This association works for the rights and professional training of sports journalists. Abubakar Bin Talat is the President, Syed Arsalan Shirazi is the General Secretary, and Nasir Abbas Naqvi is the Secretary of Finance. The Journalists Panel is widely respected in the journalism community for its integrity, unity, and commitment to professional values. The Journalists Panel has always been a staunch advocate for the rights, dignity, and welfare of journalists across the country.
The Journalists Panel is led by veteran journalist and PFUJ leader Afzal Butt. Under Afzal Butt’s visionary leadership, remarkable efforts have been made to strengthen the solidarity of journalists and ensure welfare initiatives for media workers. His dedication, courage, and continuous struggle for freedom of the press and the rights of journalists have earned him great appreciation among his colleagues.
In Pakistan, the Journalists Panel is a prominent and long-standing professional group that regularly competes and holds leadership positions, especially at the National Press Club (NPC) in Islamabad.

Like RISJA, the journalist community of Islamabad and Rawalpindi and various media groups, Chairman National Journalist Panel Rana Imran Sher Sahafat Rana Imran has announced support for the Journalist Panel of Quaid Sahafat Afzal Butt.
The Journalist Panel includes Nayyar Ali (President), Khalid Mahmood (Secretary), and Abid Abbasi (Finance Secretary). In March 2025, the panel won all seats for the 20th consecutive year, with Azhar Jatoi re-elected as President and Nayyar Ali as Secretary.
For the NPC elections 2026, Nayyar Ali is contesting for President, while Khalid Mahmood is contesting for Secretary. The Democrats Panel has fielded Abdul Razak Sial and Dr. Furqan Rao for President and Secretary, respectively.
