ISLAMABAD: (PR: Dated February 9, 2026)(Urdu Times): A joint high-level meeting of the district administration and police was held regarding ensuring peace and security arrangements in the Federal Capital Islamabad, in line with the direction of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. The meeting was chaired by Islamabad Chief Commissioner and Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Muhammad Ali Randhawa and Inspector General of Islamabad Police, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. Senior officers from the Islamabad district administration and Islamabad Police attended the meeting. The meeting discussed measures to ensure security arrangements at the divisional level in Islamabad to make the entire city safe.
Islamabad Chief Commissioner and Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that on the direction of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, a comprehensive strategy to make the Federal Capital Islamabad the safest city within seven days will be implemented.
Inspector General of Islamabad Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said that the monitoring system on the entry and exit routes of the Federal Capital Islamabad will be further strengthened.
Chairman CDA said that a modern mechanism will be developed to monitor traffic and movement in the Federal Capital Islamabad.
The meeting reviewed arrangements made to further improve the law and order situation and prevent crime in the City. IG Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said that protecting the lives, property and honor of citizens is our top priority and Islamabad Police is working day and night to ensure this. He said that security will be enhanced across the City, including the Diplomatic Enclave and Red Zone.
IG Islamabad Police said that Islamabad Safe City has been established according to modern requirements and highest standards. He said that a mechanism has been devised to monitor the entry and exit of main highways, markazs and sectors of the City through Safe City cameras and modern technology. IG Islamabad Police said that timely actions are being taken to prevent terrorism and against criminal elements. He further say that modern technology is being utilized to make the Federal Capital Islamabad a crime-free city.
Islamabad Chief Commissioner and CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that a zero-tolerance policy will be adopted to further improve the law and order situation and against criminal elements in the Federal Capital Islamabad. He said that no compromise of any kind will be tolerated in this regard.
It was decided in the meeting that individuals involved in suspicious activities will be closely monitored and their complete data records will be compiled. During the briefing in the meeting, it was informed that the door-to-door survey in urban areas has been completed, while the door-to-door survey in rural areas will be completed soon.
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that special surveillance of entry and exit routes of the Federal Capital Islamabad will be enhanced along with increased patrolling across the city. Similarly, the entry and exit routes of the City will be protected and monitored with modern technology-based CCTV cameras.
Chairman CDA directed that effective coordination with all relevant departments should be enhanced to further improve security in the Federal Capital Islamabad. He further said that all available resources and technology will be utilized to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives, property and honor in the Federal Capital Islamabad at all costs.
