ISLAMABAD (Urdu Times) Govt vows to strengthening cultural sector, empowering women: Aurangzeb Khan Khichi

ISLAMABAD, Nov 26 (Urdu Times):Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Division Aurangzeb Khan Khichi on Wednesday said that the government is committed to strengthening Pakistan’s cultural sector and encouraging women’s active participation in national development.
Addressing a seminar organized here by ‘Grow Women’ as Chief Guest, the minister appreciated Founder and CEO ‘Grow Women’ Romana Chaudhary for offering a platform that promotes cultural engagement, community-building and social empowerment for women.
The event drew a large number of women from different parts of the country, with the organizers noting a marked increase in participation compared to previous years.
The minister further said that Pakistani society is deeply rooted in values of goodwill, charity and collective welfare.

He reiterated that the Ministry of Culture and its affiliated institutions like PNCA and Lok Virsa are ready to collaborate on projects that promote cultural understanding and community development. He encouraged women to continue sharing ideas and participating actively in national initiatives aimed at advancing the country’s cultural landscape.

“In recent Lok Mela organized by Cultural Ministry, the number of women artists crossed the men’s participation as compare to the previous years, showed the women interest in arts and culture as well.”

On this occasion, Managing Director of the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), Muhammad Asim Khichi, also attended the event as special guest and appreciated the role of Sindhu Social Welfare Trust and other organizations in promoting cultural diversity.

He assured them APP’s full support for highlighting the different colors of Pakistani heritage and the development of women across the country.

Growing Women Founder and CEO Romana Chaudhry highlighted the effectiveness of her organization and announced new projects for women and said that Growing Women provided practical training to women in various fields, out of which 30 to 35 percent of them were also made available for employment.

Chairman Dream Pakistan Advocate Munir Usmani extended the thanks the participants, media representatives and civil society and informed about the objectives of the program and its various aspects, highlighting the organization’s efforts for the socio-economic inclusion of women.

Chairperson Sindhu Social Welfare Trust Dr. Afshan Malik said that the main point of today’s ceremony was that with the efforts, more avenues should open up for women in the social and economic fields, and our sole objectives should be to create ease in their path.

She said that when we do something for others, Allah Almighty blesses us so much that we are not even capable of it.
“We have to end the discrimination between men and women. A lot of work needs to be done in remote areas to empower women. Women in remote areas have not yet fully achieved the right to live, it is our foremost responsibility to work for women in remote areas because the facilities and opportunities that women in big cities including Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi are enjoying not available to women in remote areas,” she said.

She said that her organization was trying to teach those women who lack education skills and put them on their feet. She stated that welfare means do not need any reward from any person, but it will get afterlife.

Chairman Sadat Group Syed Sadat Shah paid tribute to the services of the youth, especially women leaders. He assured all possible support for the development of women from his organization and said that women’s inclusion is the basis of a stable society.

On this occasion, a documentary film was shown about the Training and Business Incubation Center, free medical facilities for women and relief support, which highlighted mutual cooperation in making women socially and economically independent.

Focal Person Prime Minister Youth Program for Women Initiative Islamabad also thanked the organizers for the successful organization of the event and highlighted the ongoing government initiatives and opportunities for women. The event was well attended by prominent personalities from different walks of life, women leaders, social workers and media representatives.
