LAHORE (Urdu Times):* Deaf Reach, a programme of the Family Educational Services Foundation (FESF), marked its sixth anniversary and concluded its Summer Camp with a ceremony highlighting the need for greater educational, social and economic opportunities for Deaf young people across Pakistan.<\/p>\n

The ceremony brought together representatives from the corporate sector, educational institutions, partner organisations, volunteers and members of the Deaf community, reflecting growing collaboration around efforts to improve access and opportunities for Deaf youth, particularly those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, Deaf Reach Director *Daniel Marc* thanked the participating organisations, guests and volunteers for their continued support and emphasised that creating an inclusive society requires collective action.<\/p>\n

> \u201cWe all must step forward and do our part to create opportunities for the Deaf community,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Deaf Reach is among Pakistan\u2019s few dedicated networks of schools serving Deaf students, with a presence extending beyond major urban centres into rural communities. Through its education and empowerment initiatives, the programme seeks to address the barriers that continue to limit access to learning, skills development and future opportunities for Deaf youth.<\/p>\n

The sixth anniversary ceremony also marked the successful conclusion of the Deaf Reach Summer Camp, which brought together young participants and volunteers for educational and extracurricular activities. The programme provided an opportunity for students to develop skills, engage with peers and participate in activities designed to support their confidence and personal development.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by *Syed Aslam Mehdi, Executive Director and Group Head of External Affairs at Packages; Fadia Kashif, CEO of Tary Zameen Par Trust, Multan; representatives of Sapphire Finishing Mills Ltd.; representatives of 7UP; Imran, Head of HR at DWP Group; Atiza, CEO of Marketing Activation; representatives of NDL HR; Eisha, Marketing Head at Cheezious; and representatives of Style Textile.*<\/p>\n

Volunteers and representatives from *Lahore College for Women University, LGS, UCP, Crescent School and Artline* also contributed to the Summer Camp and anniversary activities. The participation of corporate organisations, educational institutions and volunteers underscored the importance of partnerships in expanding opportunities for communities that remain underserved.<\/p>\n

As Deaf Reach enters its seventh year, its focus remains on expanding access to education and empowerment initiatives for Deaf youth in both urban and rural Pakistan, particularly those who face economic barriers. The programme says its broader objective is to help Deaf young people acquire the education, skills and confidence needed to participate more fully in society and build independent and productive futures.<\/p>\n
