Rawalpindi (Urdu Times): The important issue of Building Fitness Certificates faced by private educational institutions has been resolved as a result of the continuous and effective efforts of the central leadership of the All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association (APPSMA).<\/p>\n
\u00a0As a result of the continuous and effective efforts of the central leadership of the All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association (APPSMA), the important issue of Building Fitness Certificates faced by private educational institutions has been resolved.<\/p>\n
The School Education Department of the Government of Punjab issued a new notification on July 17, 2026, clarifying that private educational institutions can obtain Building Fitness Certificates not only from the Communication & Works (C&W) Department but also from civil engineers or engineering firms registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).<\/p>\n
This development is the result of the continuous efforts of APPSMA\u2019s central leadership. On July 7, 2026, APPSMA Central Chairman Kashif Adeeb Jawadani, APPSMA Lahore and Kasur President Chaudhry Muhammad Abbas, and Central Joint Secretary Muhammad Hasnain Chaudhry met with the Punjab Minister for Communications and the relevant secretary and expressed serious concerns over the issue.<\/p>\n
Later, during a meeting with Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat Khan, a practical solution to the issue emerged, and it was decided that Building Fitness Certificates could also be obtained from PEC-registered engineers.<\/p>\n
APPSMA expressed its special gratitude to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat Khan, and the Secretary of the Punjab School Education Department for this important decision. The association stated that by resolving a long-standing and fundamental issue faced by private educational institutions, the government had provided significant relief to millions of students, parents, and thousands of educational institutions.<\/p>\n
On this occasion, APPSMA also recalled that in 2023, when private educational institutions were made bound to obtain certificates only from the Building Department, serious difficulties arose in various districts of Punjab. At that time, APPSMA North Punjab President Abrar Ahmed Khan held several meetings with the relevant authorities and submitted written concerns. As a result, on January 5, 2024, the government amended the previous policy and also recognized certificates issued by PEC-registered engineers.<\/p>\n
The recent notification is a reaffirmation of that position and a success of APPSMA\u2019s continuous struggle.<\/p>\n
The central leadership of APPSMA congratulated all private educational institutions on this historic achievement and expressed its resolve that the organization would continue to play its role with the same spirit in the future for the protection of the rights of private educational institutions and the permanent resolution of their issues.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
