Terming it a \u201cdeadly and unlawful act,\u201d he warned that a single stray bullet fired in celebration could claim an innocent life.
\nHighlighting the risks associated with aerial firing, the SHO said that victims of celebratory gunfire are often unsuspecting citizens, including women and children, who suffer severe injuries or even lose their lives without ever knowing where the bullet came from. \u201cIt is not a celebration \u2014 it is a crime that turns joy into tragedy,\u201d he stressed.
\nHe appealed to citizens to refrain from indulging in aerial firing and urged families, elders, and community members to play a responsible role in discouraging such acts. The SHO further assured that strict security measures will be enforced in the area, with enhanced police patrolling to prevent unlawful activities. He reiterated that those found involved in aerial firing will face strict legal action without discrimination.
\nCalling for public cooperation, Anis-ur-Rehman Sheikh emphasized that celebrations should remain peaceful and safe. \u201cPeople must understand that one reckless act can destroy a family forever. Remember: a bullet fired in joy can become a cause of someone\u2019s death,\u201d he added.
