Islamabad (Urdu Times) Under a new policy for police officers and personnel, weekly leave has been made mandatory. The new policy also clearly defines the rules and regulations for leave and the authorities for its approval. Rules for casual leave, medical leave, and other types of leave have been revised.The IG Islamabad will have the authority to approve casual leave for all ranks, while SP\/DSP ranks will have the authority for major leave. The DIG will have the authority to approve all types of leave from Constable to Inspector.SHOs will have the authority to approve up to 3 days of casual leave for Constables to Head Constables, while DSPs will have the authority to approve up to 5 days of casual leave. SPs will have full authority for Constables to Sub-Inspectors, while SSPs will have the authority to approve up to 3 days of casual leave for SHOs and Inspector ranks.<\/p>\n

Leave of 45 days has been fixed for Hajj, while 21 days for Umrah and other pilgrimages (Ziarat).<\/p>\n

Approval of leave on medical grounds based on medical necessities for police personnel. Weekly rest will be kept separate from other leaves.Leave of up to 20 days for appearing in CSS and PCS examinations, and up to 15 days for interviews will be approved.Female police officers will be granted one month\u2019s leave on the occasion of marriage, while male personnel will be granted 10 days\u2019 leave.The welfare of the police force and maintaining departmental discipline is the top priority, said the IG Islamabad.<\/p>\n
