ISLAMABAD (Urdu Times) CHAIRMAN CDA REVIEWS UPLIFTING, BEAUTIFICATION AND DEVELOPMENT WORKS OF SUPER MARKET, KOHSAR MARKET AND DIPLOMATIC ENCLAVE IN ISLAMABAD

ISLAMABAD, September 18, 2025 (Urdu Times): Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) conducted a detailed field visit to Super Market, Kohsar Market, Nazimuddin Road, Diplomatic Enclave and Islamabad Expressway to review ongoing development projects, uplifting, beautification, landscaping and infrastructure improvement works in different markets in Islamabad.

Member Environment, DG Works, DG E&M, Project Directors and other senior officers of CDA accompanied the Chairman during the visit. The Chairman inspected various sites and reviewed the progress of ongoing works, quality standards, implementation timelines and overall arrangements aimed at improving the appearance, functionality and public facilities at these important locations of the federal capital.

During the visit, the Chairman particularly reviewed the uplifting and beautification works at Super Market and Kohsar Market, including improvement of public spaces, landscaping, horticultural works, green areas, streetscape, cleanliness and related infrastructure. He directed the concerned formations to ensure that market improvement works are undertaken in a coordinated manner to provide a clean, attractive, accessible and better managed environment for citizens, shoppers and visitors.

The Chairman emphasized that beautification and landscaping works should complement the existing character and natural beauty of Islamabad. He directed the Environment and other concerned formations to focus on plantation, horticulture, maintenance of green belts, improvement of landscaped areas and enhancement of the overall visual appeal of markets and adjoining roads.

While reviewing the Diplomatic Enclave, the Chairman directed the concerned formations to ensure continued improvement and maintenance of roads, landscaping, horticulture, green areas, streetscape and other allied infrastructure. He emphasized the need for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, landscaping and urban management in the area.

Chairman CDA directed all concerned formations to ensure timely completion of ongoing works without compromising quality. All development and beautification works must strictly conform to approved designs, specifications, engineering standards and quality control requirements. He further directed that regular inspections be conducted to ensure proper execution and maintenance of the completed works.

Special attention was also directed towards traffic management, pedestrian movement, road safety, parking arrangements, cleanliness and public convenience around the markets and project sites. The Chairman directed that construction material and debris be removed promptly and that roads, footpaths, green areas and public spaces remain clean, safe and accessible throughout the execution of works.

The Chairman further directed CDA officers, Project Directors, consultants and contractors to maintain close coordination and immediately address any technical, administrative or operational bottlenecks that could affect project timelines. He stressed that all components of development and beautification projects should be completed in a coordinated manner so that improved facilities can be made available to the public without unnecessary delay.

While reviewing works along Nazimuddin Road and Islamabad Expressway, the Chairman directed the concerned formations to maintain high standards of road infrastructure, landscaping, horticulture, cleanliness and traffic management. He emphasized that major roads, commercial areas and important public spaces should receive regular maintenance and continuous attention to preserve their improved condition.

Chairman CDA said that the uplifting of Kohsar Market, Super Market and other markets, improvement of public spaces and expansion of landscaping and beautification initiatives are important components of CDA’s efforts to further improve the urban environment of Islamabad. He directed the concerned officers to ensure that development works contribute to better accessibility, smoother traffic movement, improved public facilities and an enhanced city environment.

The Chairman also directed senior officers and Project Directors to personally monitor the progress of development and beautification projects through regular field visits and ensure proactive resolution of issues.
