According to a press release issued by the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, the two leaders reviewed the rapidly changing security situation in the region and its possible implications. During the conversation, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar called for the implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (June 2026) and stressed that all parties concerned should take the path of de-escalation and exercise utmost restraint. He reminded that for lasting peace in the region, strict implementation of the decisions and principles taken under the historic “Islamabad MoU” (Memorandum of Understanding) signed in June 2026 is the need of the hour. The Foreign Minister of Pakistan clarified that negotiations and diplomacy are the only viable way to resolve the ongoing conflicts and outstanding issues in the region on a permanent basis. He said that only through peaceful coexistence, dialogue and diplomatic relations can sustainable peace, prosperity and stability be ensured in the region. Its aim was to end the recent US-Iran conflict in the Middle East. Under the Islamabad MoU, a temporary ceasefire was agreed between the two sides for 60 days to pave the way for a permanent peace agreement.
